2 RescueMeUSB "Debian" edition may require a small amount of configuration by the purchaser -- i.e., for network connectivity to work, the MAC Address and network card type must be set correctly for the system that RescueMeUSB will run on. In addition, to preserve the life of the RescueMeUSB, Swap space is not created and Logging goes to /dev/null.
RescueMeUSB™ "Professional Edition" v1.5 ADDS the following enhancements to RescueMeUSB "Home Edition":
RescueMeUSB™ "Debian Edition" v1.5 includes:
- i.e., it is "Debian on a stick" -- the Debian OS runs completely from the USB stick; no hard drive or CD-ROM drive is required!
- Perfect for your own "embedded" Debian on a Thin Client or other diskless system!
- Use it to turn a Thin Client into a nice Samba Server for your Pictures, Videos, Music for both your Windows and Linux PCs!
- Why? Thin Clients are diskless, fanless (basically, no moving parts) and some models may consume as little as 9 watts of electricity!
- Bonus: With this configuration you could, for example, keep your private files on a LUKS Encrypted Partition (even if on an external USB/FireWire/eSATA hard drive - depending on the type of ports available in your Thin Client)!
- Please contact us so that we can consult with you on your custom requirements.
